OLD FOLKS' CONCERT

The senior citizens of Sevenoaks look forward to our Old Time Concert which is held every March at Wilderness School. We entertain about 300 pensioners to three hours of songs and humour. They really enjoy joining in the songs that they sung in their youth. The picture shows the final item. This is one of our most satisfying events and one about which we receive the most correspondence. It takes a lot of organisation but it is worth it.

Each year we sponsor an elderly, handicapped couple for a week's holiday on the Norfolk broads. We also pay all the expenses and transport the couple to and from the resort.

OUTINGS FOR OLDER FOLK

In conjunction with the Sevenoaks Volunteer Bureau the Lions Club has provide outings for groups of older folk to such places as Emmetts Garden, Ightham Mote and Coolings Garden Centre. They gave an afternoon out for those who find it more difficult to travel on their own.
