SUPPORT FOR LOCAL PEOPLE IN NEED

We help individual local people or groups in need when the agencies of the State cannot or will not provide support.

Our help includes, for example:

• helping people in urgent need who are nominated by the KCC Social Services or the CAB e.g. single mothers by putting up a garden swing or putting locks on garden gates and handicapped people by providing furniture or white goods..

• ran competition for teenagers from local schools to select the person who had contributed most to the community.

• providing trauma counselling for young people.

• helping to fund the Pickering Centre which provides support for cancer sufferers and their families.

• support for youth groups, for example, financial support for basketball team, boxing club and for youth shelter. We also  contributed to purchase of projector for Leigh Youth Forum.

• provide transport for handicapped people.

• enabling Caring for Carers to control its activities and report to its financial supporter and contributing to the rent for a new building for Compaid.
